Earn $100 Passive Income A Year With Chili TV

Update – July 2020

As of July 2020, it appears Chili TV is no longer in business. The Chili TV app doesn’t connect to their servers anymore, their website has been taken down and I haven’t had any response to my email.

Chili TV is a relatively new and pretty innovative company that pays you in gift cards for letting them display ads on your TV.

They send you a little box with an HDMI cable for FREE. You plug that into your TV and then it will automatically turn on your TV for 30 minutes every day at a set time, display ads, then switch itself off again.

Chili TV claims this will earn you $100 in gift cards every year.

If you’re experienced in the world of passive income and run a lot of apps on your phones, tablets and laptops already, this is excellent for you (and also check out some of our other reviews). It doesn’t use any of those resources and you don’t have to spend any money. The box itself is free and you just need to plug it into your TV, which you probably weren’t using to earn money anyway.

Signing Up

To sign up, click here and fill in the form. You do have to enter card details but you won’t be charged. They only require your card details in case you lose the Chili TV box or your account is inactive for 60 days. If that happens, Chili TV will charge your card $12.99 and they will send a reminder before doing so.

Once you’ve placed your order, you should receive your Chili TV box within a few days.

Setting Up

In the box is an HDMI cable, power adapter and the Chili TV box itself. Now just plug it all in!

Once your box is plugged in, select the correct HDMI source on your TV. At this point, you can download the Chili TV app from the App Store or Google Play and create an account.

Setting it up through the app is pretty easy. Create your account, connect it to WiFi and you’re almost good to go.

Chili TV turns on your TV automatically via HDMI-CEC. Not all TVs have HDMI-CEC capability so when you sign up you will be asked what make your TV is and they may not send you a box if your TV doesn’t have HDMI-CEC.

If your TV doesn’t have HDMI-CEC though, you can still use Chili TV. You’ll just have to turn on your TV manually.

How Points Work

I started with 200 points in my account. You can get 200 points when you start too, by signing up via this link! And 1000 points equals $10 so that’s a free $2 to start you off.

You will also get an additional 200 points on your first day of using it, putting your initial balance at $4 already.

There is a maximum to the number of points you can earn in one day, however, the exact amount seems to vary.

As well as Chili TV turning itself on for half an hour a day, you can turn it on through the app whenever you like, as long as you haven’t reached the maximum number of points for that day. So you can probably earn more than $100 a year, but don’t quote me on that.

You can cash out 1000 points for cash to your PayPal account or an Amazon gift card.

So whether you’re a beginner to passive income or already use other methods, Chili TV seems like a pretty good thing to add.
